Two fun filled weeks to bring in the Harvest Season!

Children's Games returns on Sat Sept 18 10 am - noon at the Farmers Market. Games are sponsored by Beacon Baptist Church

The Straw Sculpture Contest is back! Sculptures should be completed and ready for voting by Sunday Sept 12th.

We have added a new catagory this year: Scarecrows

We've also added a theme: The Movies

Registration forms for the Straw Bale Contest are now posted. Registration forms must be completed to qualify for the voting and prizes. Completed forms and $10 straw fee should be dropped off at the Blue Spruce Motel.

Voting will be two full weeks.....place your penny votes in the slot of your favorite and your silver coins for negative votes into the competition to protect your favorites! Voting takes place at Port Austin Market. Remember, green (dollar bills) do not count as votes but are donations to FPPA! This year's voting money will go towards Cookies and Crafts with Santa 2010.

There will be prizes in both catagories! Straw sculpture entries are limited to the Village of Port Austin and along it's borders unless you can provide your own round bales of straw.

Scarecrow entries can be anywhere throughout Port Austin Township, but you must register to be eligible for judging and a prize. Scarecrow entries may be picked up at the Blue Spruce Motel, Joe's Pizzeria and the Village Hall. Deadline to register for the scarecrow contest is Sunday Sept 12 and scarecrow must be up by Wednesday Sept 15.

Digital Scavenger Hunt Sunday Sept 26 $5 per team
Teams may have two to four participants. You will need a digital camera (one per team) and a vehicle is recommended. We must have a minimum of six teams pre-registered for event to happen. Registration forms are available above or by stopping by the Blue Spruce Motel.
